Danielle Buckalew My name is Danielle Buckalew, and I was born and raised here in Livingston, AL. When I graduated from high school I wasn't ready to leave my hometown, but I wanted to be able to have what I considered the "full college experience." That is why I chose the University of West Alabama. I wanted to be able to meet new people and have a sense of freedom even though I was going to college in my hometown. Living on campus helped create this experience, but I had to take the initiative to get involved and step outside of my comfort zone. While in college, I served as SGA President, President of Blue Key Honor Fraternity, and President of ODK. I worked as the Business Manager for The Livingston Life (now The Muse) and served as a UWA Ambassador, Orientation Leader, and member of Phi Kappa Phi. Fortunately, I am lucky enough to be able to return the favor to the institution that has given me so much. I love recruiting students to UWA - knowing they will enjoy their college years just as much as I did! What is your favorite place on campus?I love our covered bridge on campus. When I was little, my parents and I used to picnic here and feed the ducks. While in college it was one of my favorite study spots. What is your favorite UWA tradition?I always enjoy the UWA Homecoming Parade! What do you love most about UWA?One of my favorite aspects about UWA is the friendliness of our students, faculty and staff. It is rare to ever meet a stranger on our campus. What piece of advice would you give to a prospective student?Get involved! Your college experience depends greatly on you. UWA offers over 75 different campus organizations for you to enjoy.Education: University of West Alabama, Bachelors of Science in English, 2007University of West Alabama, Masters of Art in English, 2012Contact information: firstname.lastname@example.org Be My Friend!
